Actually the official name is Green Snake and White Snake and it’s based on the Legend of the White Snake which is one of my favorite Chinese stories. I’ve learned a couple White Snake bits for Chinese Opera but this is my first time getting to be Green Snake. I have wanted to be Green Snake since I was a little girl. Dream come true! LOL
This dance is deceptively hard. It’s not that technical, mostly it’s choreographed acting really, but I’ve never had a dance where I had to share someone’s space that closely. We spend a good portion of this dance glued to each other, so there were a lot of head clopping and stomping all over each other in the beginning.
2.5 weeks until the performance! I wish all my dances felt as ready for the stage as this one. >.<
